Here I am!!!
This year I did not post over here every time I revealed fics... but in my defense, I did that from my phone at 5:30 a.m. every day, lol!
(The wonderful advantages of doing an exchange at AO3... more on that after the cut, haha!)
Anyway, here's the reveals list! Thanks to
learashi for being an awesome pinch-hitter, and
pompomshoes for betaing :D And to everybody else for participating! It was a fun year!
Alright so... AO3 talk.
I love AO3. Seriously, I highly recommend it to anybody thinking of organizing an exchange in the near future. I discovered some awesome features after it was too late (lol), but here's a recap on what you need to know about it:
1. THE FORMS!!! You can customize so many options! I'm a bit in love with that <3 Pairings and fandom tags have to be entered in a Tag set (to limit pairing choices! I only included Sho pairings/trios + OT5/Gen).
2. You CAN make the sign-ups visible to others if you want. I think it only displays them after you have five though? I'm not sure. I didn't make them visible this time (probably should have xD)
3. When it comes to matching, you have to set the minimum parameters so that AO3 can generate matches. If you're not satisfied with the matches, you can override them (I did this for a few people who didn't have very specific requests). It sends the assignments automatically once you're done with that (you can customize the message).
4. Everyone submits their own work (so less work for mod, yay!) but you have to approve them for the work to appear in the collection. You CAN get notifications every time someone submits their fic (but I, like an idiot, did not select that option, lol).
5. Fics can be made public one by one or all at the same time, your choice. Same for author reveals. At the beginning, however, the collection must be "Anonymous" (so that it doesn't display author's name) and "Unrevealed" (to keep the fics hidden from public view until you start revealing them).
6. The dates you set do NOTHING xD Sign-ups have to be opened and closed manually. Same goes for the time limit for submitting works (people can continue doing so until you select the "Thsi collection is closed" option).
7. To assign a pinch-hitter: Go to "Manage Items", find the pending ones, and select "Default" for the fic that needs a pinch-hitter. Then go to "Default Items" and enter the pinch-hitter's username (it doesn't even need to be someone who signed up for the exchange).
(This looks like a list of reminders for me now, hahahaha!)
I think it's pretty cool we get to know how many silent readers are checking out the exchange's fics too! :D
Okay, time to wrap up.
Thanks to everyone for participating this time. I think you all did a great job! I'd like to have Sho Exchange next year too... so we'll see :D
*big hugs and cheesecake to everyone*
